As the oldest distillery in Memphis, B.R. Distilling Co appreciates how American music influences the brand’s releases. Several of Blue Note’s releases have names associated with local music. For the brand, it is more than just a curious name or a fun play on words. The community is just as important as the attention to craft. Finding the perfect harmony is key to the brand’s success.
One of the reasons why this distillery has found its niche is due to its locale. Nestled away from the “heat island affect,” the area’s microclimate with high humidity and consistent temperatures allows the distillers to control the aging process and produce a splendid spirit.

For the 2025 Honey Cask Bourbon release, Blue Note offers a strong ABV. Bottled at 113.86 proof, this bourbon is a heavy hitter. Just like the bold beat in a blues song, this spirit makes a big first impression. Over time, it reveals more, yet that initial hook brings people back for another sip.

This particular release has a new build. According to the distiller, it is 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley. That composition combined with the region’s long summers creates a unique flavor that cannot be matched.
