Madhvan Tribute Blend Indian Whisky Launches in 4 States

Uppal Brewers & Distillers (UBD) has launched Madhvan Distiller’s Tribute Blend (MDTB), a premium blended Indian whisky bottled at 42.8% ABV. The expression is available across Delhi, Haryana, Goa and Odisha, priced at ₹1,240 (US$14.92/£11.35) for a 750ml bottle in Delhi.

The whisky is the latest release under the Madhvan line from the New Delhi-based producer. The brand name combines “Madhu”, meaning nectar, and “Van”, meaning forest, drawing on India’s natural richness and the pursuit of excellence.

UBD said the blend was crafted “for a new generation of consumers who see success as something to be savoured, not simply displayed”.

Madhvan presents a golden amber hue. According to the official notes from the brand, the whisky opens with aromas of vanilla and honeyed scotch malts, layered with subtle clove and nutmeg.

The palate delivers a citrus lift that moves into toffee and creamy vanilla, supported by gently toasted oak. The finish leaves a lingering impression of soft spice and delicate floral notes.

Packaging for the bottle and canister features a front-facing tiger, intended to symbolize strength, confidence and ownership. The design draws on India’s natural heritage while signaling the brand’s identity.

UBD has positioned the release as a festive gifting option, pointing to its canister packaging and accessible price. The whisky retails at ₹1,700 (US$20.45/£15.56) for 750ml in Odisha, with pricing varying by location.

The brand enters a fast-moving segment. The important shift in whisky is happening at the premium end, with premium-and-above segments growing approximately 8% in volume in the first half of 2025, faster than the overall category.

India’s alcoholic beverage market is exhibiting robust growth, particularly in its premium and super-premium segments, which saw a 9% increase in volume and a 12% rise in value during 2025.

That growth is underpinned by demographics. An expanding middle class, estimated at 150 million individuals, is increasingly prioritizing quality and premium products.

Madhvan first launched in August 2025. Uppal Brewers and Distillers has relaunched Madhvan Tribute Blend in Delhi at ₹1,240 a bottle, targeting premium-whisky demand, and the company plans wider distribution across seven markets, backed by a ₹100 crore beverage investment commitment.
