Partner Content on The Whiskey Wash

From time to time you’ll see articles on the site labelled Partner Content. It means the piece has been written by, or in close collaboration with, a whisky brand, producer, distributor, retailer or other industry partner. There’s a commercial arrangement behind it, which is exactly why we label it clearly.

Not so long ago, brands could speak to drinkers directly. Distilleries, bottlers and retailers built real communities through social media, especially the busy Facebook groups where drinkers, collectors and producers all shared the same space.

That world has largely gone. Organic reach has collapsed, the communities have fragmented, and the people making, bottling and selling whisky have lost much of the direct line they once had to the people who actually buy and drink it. It’s had a real impact on the industry.

And it comes at a hard time. The market is under genuine pressure, and a lot of good producers, independent bottlers, retailers and distilleries are working harder than ever just to reach the right people and explain what they do.

Our aim is simple: to give selected partners an honest space to speak directly to Whiskey Wash readers. Done properly, we think that’s worth having. It might be a view from inside a distillery, the story of how a particular whisky was made, a producer’s take on the market, or an introduction to a brand you don’t know yet.

Every piece of Partner Content is reviewed by us before it’s published. We don’t allow misleading claims, thinly disguised adverts, or anything that doesn’t give you something genuinely useful or interesting to read.

The label is there because we believe in being straight with you. If a brand has paid to publish on The Whiskey Wash, you should know that before you read a word of it.

We hope Partner Content becomes a good way to hear directly from some of the people who make, bottle, sell and shape the whisky you love.
