Highland single malt The Dalmore has revealed the latest release in its Distillery Select Series, a 14-year-old finished in Semisecco Marsala casks and bottled at 53.7% ABV. The 2026 expression is limited to just 1,110 bottles, priced at £350, and will be available on general release from August 31, 2026.
First launched in 2024, the Distillery Select Series offers hand-selected whiskies drawn from The Dalmore’s dunnage warehouses at its Highland home.
Each release is chosen from small parcels of stock, selected for its quality and uniqueness of character.
What Will Whisky Look Like in 2027? Voices from Whisky Live Paris
READ THE STORYFor 2026, The Dalmore’s whisky makers aimed to select a whisky that showed the distillery in a distinctive light, while remaining rooted in the signature house style.
Only one whisky was hand-selected for the release. It is non-chill filtered and of natural color.
The whisky enjoyed an initial maturation in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before a finish of one year and nine months in Semisecco Marsala casks.
Semisecco Marsala barriques add complexity to the whisky. The medium-sweet style of the Sicilian fortified wine brings notes of candied citrus, honeyed fruit, roasted nuts, and gentle spice.
According to the official notes from the brand, the aroma offers “floral overtones with sweet clementine, stoned fruits, honeyed malt, and a hint of grape must and spiced vanilla.”
The palate reveals “candied orange peel, sweet pear, toffee, brioche, with subtle hints of walnuts, clove, and cinnamon.”
The finish delivers “sweet citrus and rich oak, and a fading memory of festive spice.”
The series was created to offer whisky enthusiasts a closer view of The Dalmore’s whisky-making credentials.
It provides “a deeper understanding of The Dalmore, from the depth of New Make Spirit, through to the complexity built through meticulous cask curation, and the judgement and care exercised by The Dalmore whisky makers to produce this rare and extremely limited release,” the brand said.
The Distillery Select Series was initially available only via The Dalmore’s boutiques, either online or in selected countries.
With the reopening of The Dalmore’s Highland home earlier this year, guests who book to experience the reimagined brand home can now purchase the series in person from the distillery boutique.
Members of The Dalmore Guild will have the opportunity for advanced purchase and will be notified via email. The Guild is free to join.
Founded in 1839 on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands, The Dalmore is known for a house style of chocolate, orange, and warming spice.
The distillery’s collection of unique stills produces a rich depth of spirit that the brand says is well-suited to longer and more complex maturation.
Its 12-point silver stag emblem dates back to 1263, when the symbol was bestowed upon the first chieftain of Clan Mackenzie by King Alexander III of Scotland. The stag became the whisky’s emblem when descendants of the clan took over the distillery in 1867.
