Elijah Craig has unveiled a special bourbon release to mark the prestigious Ryder Cup golf tournament’s return to New York, featuring wood from the state’s official tree in its finishing process.
The limited edition small batch bourbon, priced at $69.99, incorporates toasted sugar maple and applewood staves to honor the Empire State hosting the biennial competition at Bethpage Black. The 94-proof spirit serves as the centerpiece of the brand’s position as Official Bourbon and Worldwide Supplier of the tournament.

The special release begins with fully matured Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon, which undergoes an eight-week finishing process using staves composed of 75% toasted sugar maple and 25% toasted applewood. Sugar maple holds significance as New York’s official state tree.

According to official tasting notes, the bourbon presents rich maple syrup aromas alongside apple pie on the nose. The palate reveals maple sweetness with candy apple and caramel flavors, while the finish delivers chocolate and cocoa notes balanced by a hint of pepper.

Ryder Cup Partnership Brings Elijah Craig to Bethpage Black
The bourbon brand’s involvement extends beyond the limited-release bottle. An Elijah Craig Speakeasy will operate in the Fan Zone at Bethpage Black, serving signature cocktails to spectators throughout the tournament.
The venue will feature The Mulligan, designated as the Ryder Cup’s Official Bourbon Cocktail. The drink combines Elijah Craig Bourbon with iced tea and lemonade, garnished with a lemon slice and a flag pin to resemble a golf hole.
Team Europe member Bob MacIntyre, an Elijah Craig Golf Ambassador, will make his second consecutive Ryder Cup appearance at the event. The brand maintains additional partnerships with PGA TOUR professionals J.T. Poston and sports broadcaster Amanda Balionis.
The limited edition bourbon represents the first release in Elijah Craig’s “Road to Ryder Cup” campaign, which will include various retail and hospitality activations leading up to and during the matches. The bottle is now available nationally through retail channels.
