Pittsburgh lifestyle brand Shop 412 and Wigle Whiskey have released FOURONETWO Amburana Finished Honey Rye, a limited-edition single-barrel expression. The collaboration features a 5-year-old Pennsylvania straight rye finished with local honey and Brazilian Amburana wood, debuting December 6 at Shop 412’s South Side store.
The whiskey underwent a double-finishing process, first resting in a black locust honey barrel for floral sweetness, then in rare Brazilian Amburana wood for cinnamon and butterscotch notes.

“We often say we Pittsburghers are like bees, the stadiums & arenas—our hives. Hardworking, family-oriented, hive mentality,” said Shop 412 owner Christian Kinkela, speaking about the inspiration behind the release.
“We sourced local honey to represent the bees of our brand and hometown—one main importance to us was that this entire product was created within 50 miles of Pittsburgh, by locals,” Kinkela continued. Our design pays tribute to this rich, hardworking history coming back to life.”
The collaboration also represents the history and recent resurgence of Pennsylvania rye whiskey, which has a strong cultural presence in the area. It is older and has a longer history than bourbon. Kinkela noted that “rye grows extremely well in our region, and by the late 1800s, PA rye was the most consumed whiskey in the U.S.”
Wigle Whiskey chief operating officer Alex Moser also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Shop 412 on a spirit that captures the heart of Pittsburgh,” said Moser. “This project reflects both brands’ dedication to craft, community, and authenticity.”
Pennsylvania’s rye whiskey heritage dates back to the colonial era, when German and Scots-Irish settlers brought distilling traditions to the region. The state dominated American whiskey production until Prohibition devastated the industry.
Wigle Whiskey, founded in 2012, helped revive Pittsburgh’s distilling tradition as the city’s first whiskey distillery since Prohibition.
“Together, we’ve created something that honors the past while celebrating the people who make this city extraordinary. We love offering the public Shop 412 in a bottle,” Moser stated.
The release event runs from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on December 6 at Shop 412’s south side store, offering tastings and bottle sales.
