Kentucky-based Pursuit Spirits has announced the launch of its new exclusive event series, Founder Hour, which debuts on November 7 with the release of five rare and aged single-barrel whiskeys. The inaugural event will be held at the brand’s Louisville location, offering an intimate tasting experience for six guests with the company’s founders.

The Founder Hour series provides attendees the opportunity to taste and purchase highly limited bottlings from the Pursuit Series line while meeting with owners Kenny Coleman and Ryan Cecil.

“To make this first Founder Hour legendary, we’re tasting through the rarest single barrels we’ve ever released,” said Kenny Coleman, Co-Founder of Pursuit Spirits. “These five barrels tested our patience. We acquired some of these barrels prior to 2020 and decided to wait for this moment.”

Leading the collection is Pursuit Series Episode 078, a 20-year-old Tennessee bourbon that is the oldest whiskey ever released by the brand. The barrel yielded only 70 bottles and is bottled at 114 proof (57% ABV) with a suggested retail price of $299.99.

Another key release is Pursuit Series Episode 077, a 12-year-old bourbon from a distillery in Bardstown. Bottled at a cask strength of 133 proof (66.5% ABV), it produced only 73 bottles and will be available for $374.99.

The lineup also features two expressions from Woodinville, a distillery in Washington. Pursuit Series Episode 079 is a 10-year-old bourbon with a mashbill of 72% corn, 22% rye, and 6% malted barley. It is bottled at 120 proof (60% ABV) and priced at $199.99.

This is followed by Pursuit Series Episode 080, an 8-year-old, 100% rye whiskey. The expression is bottled at 126 proof (63% ABV) and carries a price of $199.99.

Completing the new releases is Pursuit Series Episode 081, an 8-year-old bourbon from the brand’s original stock purchased at Bardstown Bourbon Co. This 126-proof (63% ABV) bourbon, priced at $99.99, is a core component of the company’s flagship Pursuit United blend.

Pursuit Spirits was founded by Coleman and Cecil, hosts of the whiskey podcast Bourbon Pursuit. The company operates as an independent bottler and blender, sourcing barrels from distilleries across the U.S. to create its small-batch and single-barrel expressions.

For those unable to attend the Founder Hour event, Episodes 078 and 081 will be available for purchase at the Pursuit Spirits location on Whiskey Row in Louisville starting November 7. They will also be available by the pour at the on-site cocktail lounge, Trial + Error.

The remaining single barrels from the series will be released for sale after Episodes 078 or 081 sell out.
