The Glen Grant Single Malt Scotch Whisky has set a new distillery record with the sale of its Eternal 77-Year-Old expression for $536,220 (£400,000). The one-of-a-kind bottling was sold on October 10 at The Distillers One of One Auction, with proceeds benefiting The Distillers’ Charity.
The final price significantly surpassed its high estimate of £120,000.
The Eternal 77-Year-Old was the oldest single malt at the auction and achieved the second-highest hammer price of the event.

This result follows a previous record set by the distillery’s The Visionary 68-Year-Old at the 2023 Distiller’s One of One.
Total proceeds from the auction reached £2,895,902, all of which will support The Distillers’ Charity in its work with young people in Scotland.
The Glen Grant Eternal whisky was distilled in 1948 and aged for 77 years in a single Sherry-seasoned European oak butt. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 1.5L hand-blown magnum.

The Glen Grant distillery was founded in 1840 in Rothes, Speyside, and is currently led by Master Distiller Greig Stables.
According to the brand, the official tasting notes for the whisky open with an abundance of ripe berries which merge with dry spice and deep oaky notes on the nose. The palate features aromatic Seville oranges, syrupy apricots, wood spice, and warm earthy smoke.
