Bruichladdich Distillery has announced two limited-edition single malt Scotch whiskies for Fèis Ìle 2026: Port Charlotte PC5 Redux and Octomore OBA Redux. Both releases revive legendary expressions from the Islay distillery’s history, marking the 25th anniversary of its reopening in 2001.

Port Charlotte PC5 Redux pays homage to the first spirit to run off the stills when Bruichladdich reopened on May 29, 2001, after being mothballed in 1994. PC5 was the first whisky released by the reopened distillery five years later, defining Port Charlotte’s signature heavily peated profile.

Master Blender Adam Hannett’s image appears on the bottle. Aged for five years at 63.5% ABV, the release is limited to 2,500 bottles and priced at $100 (£75).
Hannett stated: “This revisiting of the original PC5 recipe captures the raw energy of heavily peated Islay whisky in its formative years. Distilled, matured and bottled on Islay, the spirit leads with confidence — vibrant, smoky and alive with bright citrus.”
He added: “American oak supports the spirit rather than dominating it, allowing the purity of the barley and the influence of Islay’s unique locale to shine through. It’s amazing to think that this was the first spirit to run off the stills during our debut festival day in 2001. Powerful yet elegant, this whisky celebrates the bold character that defined an era.”

Octomore OBA Redux resurrects a concept first introduced by Hannett as a dram during his inaugural Fèis Ìle Masterclass in 2016. OBA Concept_01 was released in 2017 and sold out almost immediately. The expression marries the clandestine nature of Bruichladdich’s Black Art series with Octomore’s extreme peat smoke.
“Transparency is the hallmark of Bruichladdich Distillery, but one single malt whisky that goes against the grain is Black Art, a spirit shrouded in secrecy,” Hannett said. “So, we asked ourselves, ‘what if the mysteries of Black Art and the nuanced power of Octomore were married together?'”
Official tasting notes from the brand describe a palate of persistent peat smoke, tropical fruits, and roasted marzipan. The whisky is bottled at 54.2% ABV.
“This is a beautifully fragrant and fruit-forward Octomore,” continued Hannett. “Floral elegance and tropical sweetness meet smoke and tempered oak. Unlike other Octomore expressions, you won’t find us talking about the age or phenol parts per million (PPM) of this release. Sometimes, things are better left a mystery.”
Octomore OBA Redux is limited to 2,500 bottles at $433 (£325).
Both expressions will be available online via bruichladdich.com and in-person at the distillery from May 24, 2026. Rock’ndaal tickets have sold out, though the distillery will live stream the event.
