Von Payne Spirits, known for their flagship Blackcurrant flavored whiskey and distinctive gargoyle pourer, have just signed a partnership with MJ Liquor Distribution and Distillers Pride. The new venture will bring Von Payne’s “unique and rebellious spirit” to the Canadian Market, a first step in their global mission.

Welcome To Canada Von Payne

Based in Clearwater Florida, Von Payne are known for their premium blended whiskey and distinctive styling. Their gargoyle logo and pourer are inspired by the edgy essence of alternative subcultures. Just like subculture spaces can feel intimidating to an outsider but are often welcoming and friendly, so too is Von Payne’s whiskey. Their distinctive roaring gargoyle is paired with a whiskey with natural blackcurrant flavors at is heart. This brings sweetness and opens the world of whiskey to new drinkers.

The award winning American whiskey will now be available to the Canadian market thanks to the new partnership with MJ Liquor Distribution and Distillers Pride. Both companies specialize in distributing premium spirits across Canada. In addition to the premium portfolio of Distillers Pride, MJ Liquor Distribution are known for their work with high profile celebrities such as Sammy Hagar, Slipknot and Terry Bradshaw.

The partnership will leverage their extensive distribution channels and industry know-how to ensure that Von Payne Black is available in top liquor stores, bars, and restaurants from coast to coast. The news comes on the back of an announcement on increased distribution across new US states earlier in 2024.

A Blackcurrant Twist On The Classic Whiskey Cocktail

Von Payne are clear in their ethos of bringing whiskey to new markets. As well as enjoying their award winning whiskey neat they have also created twists on classic whiskey cocktails for drinkers to enjoy with Von Payne Black.

For a refreshing cocktail perfect for an afternoon by the pool see below for the “Payne-Killer” recipe.

Blackcurrant old fashioned: Combine 2oz Von Payne Black, 2 dashes orange bitters and a touch of purified water to taste, serve over ice garnished with a luxardo chery and oarange peel. A fun take on a classic combination.

Payne-Killer: For a longer refreshing combination perfect for an afternoon by the pool combine 2oz of Von Payne Black with 4oz pineapple juice, 2 ox coconut juice, 1oz orange juice and 1/4oz of lime juice. Serve long over ice garnished with a pineapple wedge for maximum summer refreshment.
