Tasting Notes

About:

Appearance:
Golden-amber with legs that coat the glass nicely.
Nose:
Strong malt notes with a solid representation of oak, fruit, and spice.
Palate:
Silky mouthfeel, flavors of corn and caramel with oak and quite a bit of cinnamon. Finish: Long and warm. More bright than burn. Conclusion: Simultaneously paying homage to and attempting to lure marketshare from its American cousins, this Glendfiddich is only slightly more of a bruiser than some of its more mature siblings. The charred oak finish is quite apparent as it adds a brightness to the tail end of the taste profile. While this is a fun and enjoyable departure for Glenfiddich collectors, it is probably unlikely to make an instantaneous convert out of most bourbon loyalists. Score: 82
Finish:
Long and warm. More bright than burn.
