There are few bottles I’d call an automatic bar-add, and must-have, but this one? No hesitation. Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond 7-Year feels like a love letter to classic bourbon. Leather-bound, a little dusty, and so sessionable. I used to pay $60 and still felt good about it. But now? Back in around $40? It’s a full-on steal. A reminder that quality and price can be found… and more so in the coming months than in the past few years.
Rich and down the middle. Caramel and honey hit first, then you get that corn-rich warmth and some rye that adds structure without overpowering anything. It’s smooth without being soft, with plenty of oak and char to round things out. Balanced is usually overused as a descriptor but really well-deserved here.
