Cognac producer Rémy Martin has partnered with contemporary artist Huang Yuxing to create a special Lunar New Year collection featuring its XO and 1738 Accord Royal expressions, celebrating the Year of the Snake through distinctive limited edition packaging.
The collection’s design draws inspiration from Yuxing’s vibrant painting Majestic Serpentine which brings together elements of Cognac’s traditional terroir with modern artistic expression. The artwork showcases a dynamic landscape inspired by the prestigious Grande and Petite Champagne regions, where Rémy Martin exclusively sources its grapes.

The Design Story
At the heart of Yuxing’s creation lies a serpent that winds upward through mountains and hills, rendered in an explosion of jewel-like colors that mirror the multi-faceted aromas characteristic of Rémy Martin’s Cognacs. The artist’s signature bubble elements appear throughout the design, echoing the fruits essential to Cognac production.
A flowing river features prominently in the artwork, symbolizing the legacy of exceptional eaux-de-vie from the two premier Cognac regions, areas particularly prized for their elegance and aging potential. The upward motion of the serpent represents Rémy Martin’s continuous pursuit of excellence and tradition of reaching new heights in Cognac production.
Celebratory Cocktails
To complement the release, Rémy Martin has developed two signature cocktails for the Lunar New Year celebrations. The Mile High cocktail features the 1738 Accord Royal in a reimagined version of the classic Paper Plane. This contemporary interpretation combines Cognac with Nonino Quintessentia amaro, Aperol, and lemon juice.
The second offering, XO Fu Dao, showcases Rémy Martin XO in a dramatic presentation that plays with contrasting elements. The serve involves a theatrical combination of fire and ice, where the Cognac is poured over ice and garnished with a flamed orange zest, creating an engaging ritual for the Lunar New Year celebrations.
