Barrell Craft Spirits (BCS) has launched a 22-year-old Sweet Peat Whiskey as the latest release in its Black Label Series. The Louisville, Kentucky-based independent blender unveiled the blend of Canadian and Scotch whiskies, finished in toasted Jamaican rum and Islay whisky casks, on October 28, 2026.

Distilleries in Canada and Scotland produced the whiskies in the blend, which include rare 22-year-old Speyside single malt. BCS then finished the blend in Kentucky and bottled it at 142.34 proof (71.17% ABV).

The official notes from the brand list caramel, tropical fruit, toasted oak and delicate peat smoke.

“The BCS Black Label Series takes us back to our roots of creating highly unique whiskeys in extremely limited quantities and showcasing cutting edge blending techniques which set us apart from the crowd,” said Joe Beatrice, founder of BCS. “Sweet Peat not only blends two single malt Speyside scotch whiskies with Canadian whiskey, but this expression also features two unusual finishing casks.”

Sweet Peat is on sale now through barrellbourbon.com and at select retailers.

It has a suggested retail price of $199.99 (£150 / ₹19,040) per 750ml bottle.

Earlier in 2026, BCS introduced an 18-year-old whiskey finished in Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauternes barrels as part of its Black Label Series. The release combines 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey finished in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels with Canadian whiskies aged between 23 and 25 years and finished in Sauternes barrels.

Other Black Label releases include Barrell Decade, launched in July 2025. The expression combines Canadian whiskies distilled between 1995 and 2005, aged for 20 to 30 years, with secondary maturation in Spanish brandy and Hungarian oak casks.

Founded in Louisville in 2013, BCS specializes in blending aged, cask-strength spirits. The company draws on stocks from different distillation methods, barrel types and aging environments, using blending and secondary maturation to develop its releases.
