Buckhorn Whiskey Launches Smoked Maple and Buck Hunt Pop-Ups

Sazerac-owned Buckhorn Whiskey has unveiled Buckhorn Smoked Maple, a new 32.5% ABV whiskey blending the brand’s signature liquid with a smoked maple flavor. To mark the national launch, the brand will stage two wilderness-themed pop-up events in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago and the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta next month.

The new release pairs Buckhorn’s whiskey with what the brand describes as a “bold, sweet smoked maple flavor.”

According to the brand, the expression is “a smooth blend” designed to arrive “just in time for crisp weather and fireside gatherings.”

To celebrate, Buckhorn is saying “Buck It” to the usual night out by bringing a hidden, wilderness-themed pop-up to both cities.

The activation has been named The Buckhorn Buck Hunt. The brand describes the concept as “part scavenger hunt, part speakeasy.”

Fans who register will receive a trail of clues leading to a secret location. According to the brand, each venue is a familiar city haunt “transformed” into “a rugged, backwoods retreat packed with themed surprises, experiences, and great whiskey.”

The two host neighborhoods were selected for their names. The hunt heads to Bucktown, Chicago, on Friday 6 November 2026, followed by Buckhead, Atlanta, on Friday 13 November 2026.

Both events are free to attend. However, advance registration is strictly required to receive the clues needed to find each location. Sign-up opens on Wednesday 28 October 2026.

The launch builds on Buckhorn’s recent expansion. In June 2026, Sazerac moved the brand into ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails for the first time with Buckhorn Whiskey Lemonade, part of a wider trio of RTD launches.

Buckhorn Whiskey Lemonade marked the Buckhorn Bourbon Whiskey brand’s RTD entry, combining Buckhorn’s blended whiskey with real lemon juice from concentrate and ‘bold’ fruit flavours.

That range includes four flavours—Classic, Peach, Blackberry, and Honey Whiskey Lemonade—each at 7% ABV, built for outdoor occasions such as fishing trips, camping weekends, and backyard hangouts.

Buckhorn sits within the portfolio of Louisville, Kentucky-based Sazerac. In 2009, the company’s principal office was moved to Louisville, Kentucky, reflecting an increased company focus on bourbon whiskey production. Sazerac’s wider stable includes Buffalo Trace, Blanton’s, and Fireball Cinnamon Whisky.
