Full ownership of your barrel, and storage at our exclusive partner warehouse, gives you the opportunity to fully experience your whiskey as it matures. Barrels sold through us are stored at a warehouse with bottling facilities and a visitor centre, giving you the opportunity to fully enjoy the experience of owning a barrel of scotch.

A Different Approach To Ownership

Many barrel ownership schemes are centered on investment, and without proper ownership or storage somewhere that can help with bottling, there is limited opportunity to experience your whiskey as it matures. That is not the case when you buy a barrel with Mark Littler Ltd.

Full Ownership

Following Scotch Whisky Association guidelines and ensuring you have full ownership of your barrel at the warehouse means you have full control over your whiskey. Whether you want annual samples or six bottles a year as it matures, we can help you get the full experience from your barrel.

The Whiskey Wash X Mark Littler Ltd Partner Warehouse

The warehouse we work with in Dumfries is an active bottling facility and has its own visitor centre. You can visit your cask, tour the facilities, book in for a jeep tour of the estate, before collecting your samples and heading back to local accommodation and journeying deeper into Scotland.

Please be aware that visits to the warehouse are a charged service and taxes are due on bottling. Learn more about bottling costs.

A Note On Cask Ownership From Mark Littler, The Whiskey Wash Editor-In-Chief

Scotch whisky casks are a long-term commitment — think 10 to 30 years, not a medium-term investment with an easy exit. The only reliable path to value is buying young spirit and giving it time. There are no magic years, no guaranteed returns, and no shortcuts.
Casks sold through Mark Littler Ltd or other partners involve full legal title transfer via a warehouse-acknowledged Delivery Order. These are physical assets, not managed funds, so they fall outside FCA or SEC regulation — and outside any government compensation scheme.

Buy a cask because you love whisky and believe in what it can become. Not because someone promised you a return.
