WhistlePig’s Rarest Release, FarmStock Beyond Bonded, Adds A Wheat Whiskey

After a recent July harvest on their distillery’s farm, WhistlePig Whiskey is taking on one of their most ambitious annual whiskey experiments, FarmStock Beyond Bonded.

A statement from the whiskey maker notes this new expression is a limited edition, 100% farm-to-bottle whiskey.

In fact, WhistlePig FarmStock Beyond Bonded is not only a bottled-in-bond expression, it was harvested and distilled at the WhistlePig Farm & Distillery in Shoreham, Vermont in one season, bottled at 100 proof.

WhistlePig goes one step further, as each barrel bottled is a single barrel that’s fully traceable along every step of the whiskey’s journey. There are 30 unique points of traceability available through a QR code on each bottle’s label.

This new whiskey represents WhistlePig’s rarest release, with only 23 barrels in all.

FarmStock Beyond Bonded is made from grains grown on WhistlePig’s nine fields across 500 acres, distilled and proofed with the farm’s well water. It’s aged in sustainably-harvested Vermont oak.

The new 2023 release includes three barrels of Straight Wheat Whiskey, in addition to 11 barrels of Straight Rye Whiskey and nine barrels of Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

The distiller noted the Straight Wheat Whiskey joins the lineup with a mash bill of 100% wheat from WhistlePig’s experimental crop fields. This expression brings a softer style to the range alongside their signature 100% Rye and a High Rye Bourbon mash bill of 51% corn and 49% Rye.

“FarmStock Beyond Bonded is at the heart of our strongest commitments to the whiskey world,” said Meghan Ireland, chief blender at WhistlePig. “Beyond Bonded is our greatest experiment in that we can control every detail of the process here on the farm … It started with rye, and we’re having a grand time doing the same with bourbon, wheat and other whiskeys.”

This release of FarmStock Beyond Bonded can be found only in Vermont until the end of summer, with options to purchase at the private WhistlePig Farm & Distillery, the public WhistlePig Tasting Room in Quechee, VT, and from retailers, bars and restaurants across the state.
