California’s Rod & Hammer Introduces A Six Year Single Barrel Bourbon

California’s Rod & Hammer Distillery recently introduced its latest limited release, a Six Year Single Barrel Bourbon.

A statement from the distiller noted this whiskey was hand-bottled at cask strength from a single barrel, using a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley.

The distiller’s notes show the Rod & Hammer Six Year Single Barrel Bourbon to have notes of creamy vanilla, charred oak, and toasted honey sweetness.

Each bottle is individually numbered, complete with the barrel proofing information. It comes in a gift box.

Rodney Cegelski, Rod & Hammer co-founder, called this limited release “both bold and refined, embodying the essence of Rod & Hammer and showcasing how California does whiskey.”

The single barrel clocks in at 115.2 proof, and has a suggested price of $130 per 750ml bottle. They are available for purchase at the distillery’s tasting room as well as online through the Rod & Hammer website and at select retailers.

Rod & Hammer’s SLO Stills was founded in 2019 by California surfer Rodney “Rod” Cegelski, and Aussie jackaroo Hamish “Hammer” Marshall. Every spirit they make is “cut with the Pacific” using purified desalinated ocean water.
