Veteran-owned Old Line Spirits continues its support of veteran-focused organizations with the recent release of a limited-edition American single malt called Ohana.
This release supports the Ohana 2023 Project, led by Marine veteran Paul Lore as he and three others recently rowed across the Pacific Ocean to raise awareness and funds for K9s For Warriors and the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
In all, only 200 bottles of Old Line’s Ohana single malt will be released, with proceeds benefiting the Ohana 2023.
Founded by Navy veterans Mark McLaughlin and Arch Watkins, this is the latest in Old Line’s philanthropic commitment to military-related programs.
“Supporting organizations that help military members and their families will always be a priority for us,” McLaughlin said. “The Navy brought us together, and still to this day is a big part of how we operate as a company. We’re proud to be part of the Ohana 2023 project and help more veterans benefit from having service dogs.”
The Ohana 2023 release is available only at the Baltimore distillery, and it’s a blend of Old Line’s Double Oak Cognac and Armagnac Finishes. It clocks in at 100 proof.
The limited-edition bottle features a special Ohana label that tells the story of Team Ohana, along with a QR code for more information and to make a direct donation to the project.
“I’ve seen firsthand how K9s For Warriors has impacted the lives of so many military veterans, and it’s an incredible honor to be able to partner with other fellow veterans for a cause that is so important to me,” Lore said.

Ohana 2023 is an international mixed rowing team made up of four professionally-trained ocean row members. The team includes U.S. Marine Corps veteran Paul Lore, Mat Steinlin of the United States, Iris Noordzij of the Netherlands, and Marina Hunziker of Switzerland.
They embarked on an estimated 40-day rowing expedition across the Pacific Ocean in June, starting at the harbor of Monterey Bay, California, and ending in Kauai, Hawaii on July 19th.
The Ohana 2023 team seeks to raise awareness about veteran suicide and Neurofibromatosis, a child tumor affecting one in 3,000 births. In addition, the team is also raising money to support K9s For Warriors’ efforts in pairing highly-trained service dogs with veterans with PTSD and help find a cure for Neurofibromatosis affecting roughly 2.5 million people worldwide.
In 2022, Lore and three veterans rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean over a span of 51 days, raising more than $750,000 to support K9s For Warriors efforts. None of the rowers had prior rowing experience before beginning that two-month long rowing journey.
