Tasting Notes

About:

Indri’s core expression sets the foundation for the brand and shows clearly what Indian single malt can deliver when climate and cask are handled with care but the real test is always the liquid, and here the focus is on building a house style around ripe fruit, active oak and a sense of warmth that reflects both the barley and the conditions it matures in.
Appearance:
Deep gold with a light amber hue, showing good viscosity as it coats the glass and forms steady, slow moving legs.
Nose:
Ripe orchard fruit sits at the front, with baked apple and pear moving into vanilla pod and warm oak, while clove and cinnamon bring a defined spice note rather than a generic sweetness; there is also a subtle tropical lift that hints at the climate influence without overwhelming the profile.
Palate:
The texture is rounded and slightly creamy, carrying honeyed malt into dried apricot and toasted coconut, before the oak begins to assert itself with structure and grip; the balance is well managed, with tannin framing the sweetness rather than drying it out, allowing the fruit and spice to move through the palate in a steady, controlled way.
Finish:
Medium to long, with sweet spice and soft oak carrying through, alongside a lingering fruit note that leans towards mango skin and gentle warmth.
Comments:
This is a confident and well defined house style that leans into the natural strengths of Indian maturation without pushing too far, delivering weight, ripeness and spice in a way that feels deliberate rather than overworked; it will appeal to drinkers who enjoy a fuller, oak influenced profile while still retaining enough balance to remain approachable.
