Tasting Notes

About:

Take the classic Crown Royal and make it fancier! This is a finer selection of stocks to make a smoother, easier drinking style of Crown Royal that has a bit more going on.
Appearance:
Golden Syrup
Nose:
Butterscotch, vanilla, powdered sugar, caramel covered donuts, salted caramel.
Palate:
A classic Crown Royal flavour profile. It’s light, delicate, loaded with gentle sweetness and pleasant nostalgia of candy shops and childhood sweets.

I will say, this has some great notes of cherry, blackcurrant, and some juicier notes of peach and pineapple. There are some gristier, malty, grainy notes that come through all of this fruity, richness.
Finish:
Unlike Crown Royal Black, this has some very welcome, sweet oak notes that help to round the whisky off in a much better, more classical way.
Comments:
You can see why people love this product. It’s an easy drinking, no drama, good history sort of product and bottle that offers a familiar brand with a fancier twist. If someone poured me a glass of this at a party I wouldn’t turn my nose up at it.

Editor’s Note: This whiskey was either bought as a sample by The Whiskey Wash or provided to us as a review sample by the party behind it. Per our editorial policies, this in no way influenced the outcome of this review.
