Wild Turkey's Friendsgiving Campaign with Farmlink and Andrew Rea

Wild Turkey has partnered with nonprofit The Farmlink Project and cook Andrew Rea for a new Friendsgiving campaign to combat food waste. The initiative includes a $101,000 donation from the Bourbon brand to the charity, alongside a national sweepstakes.

The partnership aims to raise awareness of food surplus issues during the holiday season, which sees an estimated 25% increase in household waste between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

Wild Turkey’s $101,000 donation will support The Farmlink Project’s mission to connect farms that have surplus crops with food banks around the U.S.

“We’re grateful not only for Wild Turkey’s generous donation, but also for the partnership with Andrew, whose positive influence extends far beyond the culinary world,” said Aidan Reilly, chief of external affairs at The Farmlink Project.

Reilly added: “Together, we’re turning surplus food into opportunity, working to make a lasting impact in communities nationwide and inspiring others to give back this season.”

Andrew Rea, creator of the popular YouTube cooking show Binging with Babish, will help distribute unused produce in select markets.

Rea has also created a signature cocktail for the campaign, the Wild Apple Pie, designed to highlight the current abundance of surplus apples that Farmlink is focused on redistributing.

“This seasonal twist on a classic cocktail highlights an ingredient currently in abundance among farmers, so we created a flavorful nod to autumn, to kick off the season of giving back,” Rea said.

According to the brand, the cocktail is made with Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon, dehydrated apple syrup, and aromatic bitters.

“Friendsgiving is all about coming together and sharing great food, but as it kicks off the giving season, it’s also an opportunity to make a difference,” Rea added.

As part of the campaign, Wild Turkey is hosting a sweepstakes for U.S. consumers aged 21 and over. Four groups of winners will receive a private Friendsgiving dinner in New York City hosted by Rea.

Allison Varone, head of marketing at Campari America, said: “This Friendsgiving, we’re proud to partner with The Farmlink Project and Babish to create a campaign that goes beyond the table.”

She continued, stating the goal is to invite “people to savor bold flavors while making a real, immediate impact in their communities.”

The Wild Turkey brand, part of the Campari Group portfolio, is produced at its distillery in Kentucky.
