Independent bottler Whisky Craft launched First Light, a 21 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, on 1 October 2026 at a UK RRP of £85 ($114 / ₹9,500). The release marks the firm’s first permanent core expression, sitting alongside its seasonal single-cask collections.

The whisky is fully matured in first-fill bourbon casks and bottled at 46% ABV.

The expression gives the independent bottler an ongoing product to offer customers, rather than relying solely on limited single-cask releases.

According to the official notes from the brand, its flavour profile includes vanilla, honeyed sweetness, soft fruit, and gently warming oak spice, resulting in a smooth, rounded character that combines mature depth with an approachable style.

Whisky Craft has developed First Light as a premium house pour for premium bars, hotels, and restaurants. The spirit is designed to be smooth and approachable enough to introduce guests to mature single malt, with the age and character suitable for enjoyment neat, over ice, served long, or in cocktails.

Sonny Charles, founder of Whisky Craft, said: “Whisky Craft is an independent bottler, but our ambition has always been to build a modern whisky house. First Light is an important step in that development, giving our customers a permanent expression they can return to time and again.”

READ THE STORY

The brand is a recent entrant to the category. Whisky Craft launched in Edinburgh with the release of its debut collection, The Inaugural Season, a trio of distinctive single cask Scotch whiskies drawn from three of Scotland’s most iconic whisky regions.

That first collection drew on well-known names. The brand’s first release featured rare and limited expressions from Jura, Mortlach, and Caol Ila, each bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration or colouring.

A new seasonal range debuted on the same day. Launching concurrently with First Light is Season Five, which continues Whisky Craft’s single-cask collections. Highlights from this collection include a 40 Year Old Tullibardine, a PX-finished 17 Year Old Fettercairn, and an Oloroso-finished 14 Year Old Glen Garioch.

The launch was marked with a celebratory event at Bonnie & Wild in Edinburgh on Thursday 1 October 2026, introducing First Light alongside Season Five. The bottles are available at WhiskyCraft.co.uk.
