Warfield Distillery has unveiled a revamped whiskey portfolio featuring updated core expressions and a new Gently Peated Whiskey, each shaped by the brand’s high-elevation distilling environment in Sun Valley, Idaho. The releases, which roll out across select markets this spring, pair increased aging standards with lower suggested retail prices.

The new lineup includes Sun Valley Whiskey, Idaho Highlands Whiskey, and the debut Gently Peated Whiskey. Each expression draws on Warfield’s long-term investment in aged inventory and its use of 100% Idaho-grown barley and mountain water.

“This is something we’ve been building toward for a long time,” said Alex Buck, managing distiller at Warfield. “As our aged inventory has matured, we’re now able to release more developed, complex whiskeys while making them more accessible. It’s a meaningful step forward for us.”

Lowering retail prices while raising aging minimums is an uncommon move in the premium whiskey category. The distillery credits years of intentional production growth for making the shift possible.

Sun Valley Whiskey replaces the distillery’s previous entry-level expression, The Local. The new bottling is aged over two years, a significant increase from the previous six-month maturation period.

Idaho Highlands Whiskey serves as the flagship expression. Aged four to five years, it benefits from an evolved barrel program that incorporates new charred oak alongside used barrels for a more layered profile.

The Gently Peated Whiskey rounds out the portfolio. Aged a minimum of four years with light peat influence, it is designed as a balanced introduction to smoke.

Central to Warfield’s identity is its location in what the brand calls the “Idaho Highlands.” The alpine climate surrounding Sun Valley delivers significant daily and seasonal temperature swings, which drive more active interaction between whiskey and barrel. The result, according to the distillery, is deeper extraction, greater structure, and added complexity.

“These releases reflect where we are today and where we’re headed,” added Buck. “We’re continuing to refine our process, invest in quality, and create whiskeys that are a true expression of this place.”

Availability will expand through Warfield’s growing national distribution network and its direct-to-consumer platform. The Sun Valley-based distillery has steadily built its footprint since its founding, positioning itself among a growing cohort of American craft producers emphasizing terroir-driven whiskey production.
