Stoll & Wolfe Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey is bottled at 45% ABV and priced at $48.
“We are honored to receive a 94-point rating from Wine Enthusiast for our Pennsylvania Rye,” said Avianna Wolfe, co-founder of Stoll & Wolfe.
“This whiskey reflects our commitment to local grain, traditional methods, and the rich history of Pennsylvania whiskey, crafted alongside so many great producers in our home state.”
The distillery simultaneously launched its Single Barrel Pure Rye, a 100% rye mash bill whiskey featuring 80% Rosen rye and 20% malted rye.
The Rosen rye comes from Kline Family Farm, a 1741 heritage property with direct family connections to the distillery team.
Production follows pre-Prohibition traditions using sweet mash fermentation.
“Our Single Barrel Pure Rye is our homage to the historic Monongahela style,” explained Erik Wolfe, co-founder and distiller at Stoll & Wolfe, “reflecting the methods and spirit of Pennsylvania rye, with a focus on bold spice, balance, and a distinctly regional character.”
The whiskey aged approximately 34 months in new charred American oak barrels constructed from air-dried staves.
Bottled at cask strength 107 proof, the official tasting notes describe bold rye spice balanced by dark fruit on the nose.
The palate offers black cherry, cocoa, marzipan and baking spices with a dry, well-structured finish.
Priced at $70 per 750ml bottle, the Pure Rye Whiskey is available through the Stoll & Wolfe website or at the distillery tasting room.
Future releases will follow when the distillery determines optimal maturity.
Founded in 2016, Stoll & Wolfe employs open cypress tank fermentation and operates a column still with thumper/doubler, occasionally using pot-still runs.
The distillery sources grain from local farms, particularly focusing on Pennsylvania heritage varieties to create grain-forward whiskeys that honor traditional methods while advancing the category.
