The James B. Beam Distilling Co. has unveiled Old Grand-Dad 114 Single Barrel 7-Year, a new annual release that elevates the brand’s cult-favorite high-rye bourbon through carefully selected single barrels aged seven years. The Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 114 proof and carries a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Old Grand-Dad has been a staple in American bourbon since 1882. The brand has long held a devoted following among bartenders and whiskey enthusiasts drawn to its bold, high-rye character.

This newest expression builds on that heritage with a more limited, nuanced offering. Each annual release will be produced from select barrels chosen to preserve the signature spice, structure, and full-bodied flavor profile that defines the OGD 114 line.

Official tasting notes from the brand describe deep copper tones, bold caramel and vanilla on the nose, sweet toffee and charred oak on the palate, and a warm, velvety finish.

The new whiskey has already earned early recognition from industry judges. Old Grand-Dad 114 Single Barrel 7-Year recently won a Gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge, one of the drinks industry’s most respected annual competitions.

At its price point, the release positions itself as an accessible yet collectible addition to the single barrel bourbon category, a segment that has seen significant consumer interest in recent years as drinkers seek out barrel-specific variation and higher-proof expressions.

The James B. Beam Distilling Co. operates from its historic distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. The company’s portfolio spans some of the most recognized names in American whiskey, including Jim Beam, Knob Creek, Maker’s Mark, and Basil Hayden. Old Grand-Dad sits within Beam’s broader bourbon lineup as a heritage brand that has experienced a resurgence in popularity over the past decade, particularly within cocktail culture and the craft bar scene.

Old Grand-Dad 114 Single Barrel 7-Year is available now at select retailers nationwide.
