Texas distillery Milam & Greene will release a new bourbon expression on September 10, marking the latest addition to its whiskey portfolio with a focus on affordability and versatility.
Provisions Bourbon enters the market at a suggested retail price of $34.99, positioning itself as an accessible option in the competitive American whiskey category. The First Edition will debut as a collector’s bottle, with exclusive previews scheduled at Austin venues and the Kentucky Bourbon Festival this weekend.
Milam & Greene Blends Texas Innovation with Kentucky Heritage
The Texas Hill Country distillery combines pot-distilled whiskey from its Blanco facility with Kentucky bourbon in a process the company calls “Texification.” This method involves transferring select Kentucky barrels to Texas for additional aging.

Master Blender Heather Greene leads the production team alongside Master Distiller Marlene Holmes. The distillery claims to be the first in America to batch climate-influenced barrels into its expressions.
“We created Provisions Bourbon with the modern consumer at the center; something versatile, approachable, and elegant in the glass,” Greene stated in the announcement. “It’s born from Kentucky heritage and transformed by Texas climate, but it’s not boxed in by cowboy tropes or clichés. This whiskey is about modern American life. Whether you’re sipping it neat by the fire, mixing a cocktail, or catching up with friends.
“More than that, we wanted to create a Milam & Greene expression that stunned people in its value, to make people feel that they can have something elegant and amazing without breaking the bank.”

The new expression arrives bottled at 40% ABV. According to the company, the Texas climate contributes to developing greater richness and roundness in the final product. The official tasting notes describe the bourbon as smooth, adaptable, and slightly sweeter than traditional offerings.
Milam & Greene’s existing portfolio includes single barrel expressions, a Triple-Cask Bourbon, and limited editions. The company operates from Blanco, Texas, where it maintains its distilling operations and blending facilities.
Distribution of Provisions Bourbon will begin September 10 through select U.S. retailers and the distillery’s website. The launch represents the company’s latest effort to expand its presence in the American whiskey market while maintaining its $34.99 price point across retail channels.
The distillery has built its reputation on combining traditional whiskey-making techniques with climate-driven aging processes unique to the Texas Hill Country region. In fact. Master Distiller Marlene Holmes made history earlier this year by receiving an induction into the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame. She is the only female distiller in the U.S. to be inducted.
