House of Hazelwood has released its 2026 Charles Gordon Collection, comprising four limited-edition Scotch whiskies drawn from the Gordon family’s private inventory, which the brand describes as the “greatest collection of aged Scotch whisky held anywhere in the world”. The collection introduces expressions ranging from 45 to 48 years old, including an extremely rare 1977 single grain from the Girvan distillery and the house’s first-ever peated blended Scotch, with prices spanning from £3,200 to £4,000 RRSP.
The four new bottlings are A Different World (1977 Single Grain), The Silent Partner (47-Year-Old Blended Scotch), A Fond Farewell (46-Year-Old Blended Malt), and An Organised Whole (45-Year-Old Blended Malt).

Each expression will be released in quantities of fewer than 300 bottles worldwide.

The collection follows strong global demand for the brand’s first three releases. Eight previous bottlings, including Blended at Birth, The First Drop, A Singular Blend, and The Unknown, have now sold out entirely.
A Different World is a 1977 Single Grain Scotch Whisky bottled at 57.2% ABV after 48 years in a single first-fill sherry butt. Only 219 bottles will be available worldwide at £3,200 RRSP. The whisky was distilled on Girvan’s original “one apps” still from a maize base, a practice no longer in use. An unusual off-take point during production yielded pronounced green notes that evolved over nearly five decades into what the house describes as a distinctive thyme character.

READ THE STORYThe official tasting notes from the brand describe the nose as carrying “a wonderfully subtle sherry character, notes of thyme and a pleasing sherbet sweetness.” The palate is “rich, oaky, and delicately spiced” with “notes of well steeped herbal tea on the aftertaste.”
The Silent Partner is a 47-Year-Old Blended Scotch Whisky bottled at 46.7% ABV. It is priced at £3,300 RRSP with 228 bottles available. This marks the first peated blended Scotch in the House of Hazelwood range. The blend combines sweet Lowland grain whisky with Highland malts matured in American and European oak, with peat smoke used “almost as a seasoning” from a Highland distillery that still employed traditional peat-fired methods in the 1970s.
The official tasting notes from the brand highlight “a heather blossom sweetness and a fragrant bouquet of dried summer flowers” on the nose, with “a gentle whisper of smoke moving towards a lasting sweetness on the finish.”
A Fond Farewell is a 46-Year-Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 43.8% ABV, priced at £4,000 RRSP, with 252 bottles available. It is drawn exclusively from the family’s rare “Hogmanay casks,” which were filled each New Year’s Eve during the 1970s to mark the passing of the year. That tradition has since ceased, making this release a final tribute to a lost practice.
The official tasting notes from the brand describe “a sticky jam quality with a sprinkle of brown sugar, wafts of treacle scone, Dundee cake and a hint of spiced ginger wine.”
An Organised Whole is a 45-Year-Old Blended Malt Whisky bottled at 47.3% ABV, priced at £3,200 RRSP, with 267 bottles worldwide. It brings together varying Highland distillery profiles matured in both hogsheads and sherry butts.

House of Hazelwood traces its origins back nearly a century, when generations of the Gordon family began laying down stocks of whisky for special occasions and personal use. The collection is named after the family’s Dufftown home, Hazelwood House. Its inventory spans seven decades and encompasses whisky from across Scotland.
