Hennessy has released a limited-edition collection for Chinese New Year 2026, featuring four cognac expressions adorned with horse-themed designs. The collection includes Hennessy V.S.O.P, James Hennessy, Hennessy X.O and Hennessy Paradis, each decorated with metallic copper tones and deep mineral pigments against a flowing red palette.

The galloping horse design represents energy and freedom, core symbols associated with the Year of the Horse in Chinese culture.

“The Year of the Horse is a spectacular moment of awakening,” said Vincent Montalescot, Chief Marketing Officer of Hennessy.

“It symbolises freedom, new perspectives, and forward momentum – values that speak deeply to our own story. Through this collection, we honor over 160 years of shared history with China and celebrate the cultural energy that continues to inspire us.”

The design draws inspiration from Eastern philosophy regarding perspectives, energy, and freedom.

Sculpted forms and open spaces in the artwork invite viewers to engage with the piece and complete its meaning through their own interpretation.

Hennessy’s relationship with China began in 1859 when the Maison shipped twelve crates of Old Pale Cognac to Chinese shores.

The brand introduced Hennessy X.O to the Chinese market in 1872.

In 1992, the “Spirit of Hennessy” docked symbolically in Shanghai, marking another milestone in the relationship.

The Hennessy X.O Silk Road cultural journey in 2017 further strengthened ties between the cognac house and Chinese culture.

The collection is currently available at Selfridges and Amazon in the UK.

Hennessy V.S.O.P retails for £65, while Hennessy X.O is priced at £210.

Founded by Richard Hennessy, the cognac house has operated for 260 years and now distributes to over 160 countries worldwide.

The brand remains rooted in the Charente region of France while embracing global cultural collaborations in design, art, fashion and music.
