Elgin-based whisky specialist Gordon & MacPhail has unveiled Vintage Moments, a new series of ultra-rare single malt Scotch whisky box sets personally curated with high-profile individuals, with Scottish football legend Sir Kenny Dalglish as its inaugural collaborator. The first release, limited to just 15 box sets, will go on sale in early October 2026.
Each Vintage Moments box set contains five 70cl bottles of single malt Scotch whisky distilled in years corresponding to key milestones in the featured individual’s life and career. Every bottle is hand-drawn from its cask and bottled at cask strength, making each expression a one-of-a-kind liquid.

Gordon & MacPhail worked alongside Sir Kenny Dalglish to select five rare single malts from pivotal years in his life. The specific vintages, full presentation details, and pricing will be revealed at the time of the October release.
Born in 1951, Sir Kenny Dalglish is widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers in post-war British football. He is among the most admired figures in the histories of Celtic, Liverpool, and the Scotland national team. As a player, he was named IOC European Footballer of the Season and was a Ballon d’Or runner-up. As a manager, he won the First Division title three times with Liverpool and the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers.
"I was delighted when Gordon & MacPhail approached me to celebrate my Vintage Moments," said Sir Kenny Dalglish. "The experience of selecting specific single malts to share with others was an incredible memory in itself. I’ve been lucky enough throughout my life to have had some fantastic moments and narrowing these down to five pivotal years was not easy. But I am very much looking forward to the forthcoming release and sharing the stories behind my selections."
The Vintage Moments concept draws on Gordon & MacPhail’s unrivaled portfolio of single malts sourced from over 100 Scottish distilleries, with stocks spanning every vintage from 1948 to 2023. The family-owned company has operated for more than 130 years across four generations.

Beyond the Dalglish release, the company plans to extend the Vintage Moments service to a very small number of private clients each year. Those selected will have the opportunity to sample single malts from Gordon & MacPhail’s liquid library and choose five from years of personal significance.
