Elizabethtown, Kentucky-based nonprofit Give 270 has announced a vintage 1988 bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle 4 Year, paired with a modern Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year, as the grand prize in its latest 20/20 Unicorn raffle. The live drawing is set for Wednesday, April 1, 2026, with $20 tickets available for purchase until 7 p.m. on the night of the event.
The 86 proof 1988 expression was barreled over four decades ago, during a period when Van Winkle bourbons were crafted independently by the Van Winkle family. This predates the family’s well-known joint venture with Buffalo Trace Distillery, which was established in 2002.
The bottle features the distinctive green label with classic Rip Van Winkle insignia, the vintage logo, and the tagline “Asleep Many Years in the Wood.” The year 1988 is etched into the base of the bottle.
