“I’m delighted that our Signature Single Malt Whisky has once again received this recognition,” Szor said. “From the beginning, our ambition has been to create a world-class English single malt with exceptional flavour and character, while still offering outstanding value for money.”
Szor added: “These awards are a tribute to the passion and craftsmanship of our distillery team, and to our belief that great whisky should be accessible, approachable and enjoyed widely.”
The Best Whisky Distillery award recognized Cotswolds for its visitor experience. Judges noted the site as the most welcoming distillery in England, highlighting its brand home and overall visitor offering.
The English Whisky Awards are community-led and independent, created by whisky enthusiasts to celebrate the rapid growth and quality of whisky production in England. The awards aim to spotlight the innovation and craftsmanship driving the English whisky category to new heights.
Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky launched in October 2017 as the first whisky ever distilled in the Cotswolds region. The liquid is crafted using locally grown Cotswolds barley and matured in a combination of highly active STR (shaved, toasted, and re-charred) ex-red wine casks and premium first-fill ex-bourbon barrels.
Official tasting notes from the brand describe the whisky as rich, fruity, and sippable, with notes of honey, Seville orange, and dark red fruits.
The expression retails at £46 for a 70cl bottle. It is available directly from cotswoldsdistillery.com.
England’s whisky sector has expanded significantly in recent years, with a growing number of distilleries entering the market. The category’s rise has drawn increasing attention from both domestic consumers and international buyers, positioning English single malt as a credible and competitive segment within the global whisky landscape.
