Buzzard’s Roost Distillery is launching a new limited-edition expression, the Four Grain Double Oak Bourbon. The five-year-old whiskey was sourced from an Ohio distillery and underwent the brand’s proprietary secondary maturation process in custom toasted and lightly charred barrels.
Buzzard’s Roost, which operates a micro-distillery on Louisville’s historic Whiskey Row, specializes in sourcing aged whiskeys and re-barreling them for a second maturation to create unique flavor profiles.
The new bourbon has a mash bill of 73% corn, 16% wheat, 6% rye, and 5% malted barley. It is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
“We’ve always been fascinated by how different grain combinations interact with new oak,” said Judy Hollis Jones, co-founder and CEO of Buzzard’s Roost. “The Four Grain recipe offers a beautiful balance of sweetness and spice.”
Jones added: “Our double oak process enabled us to amplify the vanilla and baking spice notes, resulting in a bourbon that is both complex and incredibly smooth.”
The use of a four-grain mash bill, incorporating corn, wheat, rye, and malted barley, represents a growing category in American whiskey, often noted for creating layered and complex whiskeys.

According to official notes from the brand, the bourbon presents aromas of “baking multigrain bread with brown sugar and a hint of baking spices.”
The palate delivers notes of “rich vanilla crème brulée dusted with cinnamon, chocolate-covered toffee, crushed almonds and poached pears,” leading to a “nutty and warm” finish with a “pop of multigrain cereal.”
The Four Grain Double Oak Bourbon has a suggested retail price of $79.99.
It will be available online from February 5 and at the Buzzard’s Roost Distillery on Louisville’s Whiskey Row from Saturday, February 7.
An allocated number of bottles will be distributed to retail shelves across the country later in the month.
To mark the launch, co-founders Judy Hollis Jones and Jason Brauner will sign bottles at the distillery and tasting room on February 7.
