Blue Run Spirits has launched a limited-edition commemorative bottle of its Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon Whiskey to mark the 250th anniversary of American Independence. The 750ml bottle will retail for $89.99 across select US markets.
The commemorative packaging frames Blue Run’s design within a patriotic theme. It features the brand’s signature Viceroy butterfly, hand-applied in navy with white star accents. A red-and-white striped tax strip closes the top of the cut-glass bottle. Labels are printed in 22K gold ink.

“This release was designed to recognize a once-in-a-generation American milestone with a bottle suited to the occasion,” said Susie McInerney, senior marketing manager at Blue Run Spirits.
She added: “From the star-accented butterfly to the 22K gold ink, every packaging detail was designed to feel intentional, collectible, and unmistakably Blue Run.”

The whiskey inside is a small-batch expression bottled at 111 proof. Blue Run says its higher rye content delivers “heat, depth, and refined smoothness.”
According to the official tasting notes from the brand, the nose offers praline and orange peel, with hints of cherry and tobacco. The palate shows brown sugar and nuttiness, complemented by white pepper evolving into stone fruit and dried apricot. Its finish is described as long and refined, with notes of herbal white tea, peach, and clove.

READ THE STORYThe expression has earned several accolades. These include Platinum at the ASCOT Awards, Platinum at the TAG Global Spirits Competition, and Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The commemorative release will be available in California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Blue Run Spirits was founded in Georgetown, Kentucky. The company positions itself as a modern brand focused on bourbon and design.
In 2024, Blue Run was acquired by Molson Coors, marking the brewing giant’s entry into the American whiskey category. The deal underscored growing interest from major beverage companies in the premium bourbon segment.
