Bar Stormy Opens in Hyderabad by Yangdup Lama & Minakshi Singh

Bartender-owner duo Yangdup Lama and Minakshi Singh have opened Bar Stormy in Hyderabad’s Financial District, their first venture in South India. Created in partnership with Kishore Pallamreddy, founder of Red Rhino Brewing Co., the 75-seater bar opens its doors on July 16, 2026.

The bar is inspired by the classic Dark ‘n Stormy cocktail, made with dark rum, ginger beer, and lime.

It marks the pair’s fifth bar since Cocktails & Dreams Speakeasy launched in 2012. Their portfolio also includes Sidecar, The Brook, and The Old House.

“Hyderabad has grown into one of India’s most exciting cities, with a young and diverse community,” said Minakshi Singh, co-founder of Bar Stormy. “We wanted Bar Stormy to reflect that energy while staying true to what we have always believed a bar should be: welcoming, inclusive, and built around connection.”

At the center of the 2,800-square-foot space is a bar counter designed by Lama himself for the first time in his career. The 19-foot counter is fabricated from fingerprint-resistant stainless steel and divided into three identical workstations. Built at 36 inches, it allows bartenders to work in a more upright position.

“After almost three decades behind the bar, I have realised that the best spaces are designed around interaction,” said Yangdup Lama, co-founder. “A bar counter is where those conversations begin.”

The beverage program is split into three divisions. The first features 10 signature cocktails inspired by regional ingredients such as curry leaf and Osmania biscuit, including Southern Storm and Stormy State.

A second section offers eight cocktails carried over from the duo’s other venues, such as Cilantro, Foghorn, and Yang’s Old Fashioned. The final section presents four Dark & Stormy cocktails.

Food is inspired by global tapas culture, with shareable plates including Wai Wai Bhel, Imli & Tuna Crudo, and Bone Marrow Nihari Feast.

“Partnering with Yangdup and Minakshi—two of the industry’s most respected names—has made it possible to bring a truly world-class cocktail destination to Hyderabad,” said Kishore Pallamreddy, partner at Bar Stormy.

The bar opens 4 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and until 1 a.m. on weekends.
