Tasting Notes

About:

Aged 15 years entirely in American and European Oloroso casks, this whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and is un-chill filtered.
Appearance:
One can see the sherry cask influence in this, resulting in a lovely golden amber with some slightly redder notes. Viscosity and legs are solid.
Nose:
The typical nutty aroma of a single malt like this is immediately present, underlaid by warming notes of butterscotch, caramel, rich dark chocolate, almond toffee, and a little coffee.
Palate:
This melts over the palate like nutty, warm butter, showcasing mastery of sherry cask maturation. It is extremely rich in notes of almonds, dark chocolate, butter toffee, dried cherries, and some melting caramel.
Finish:
The finish goes on this one, showing off a distinctive nuttiness that you don’t want to quit.
Comments:
This Scotch single malt sings the right notes for being a quality sherry bomb in this age range, reflecting a slight hint of teenage years on its nutty profile.
