WhistlePig Whiskey, the playful Vermont-based craft whiskey maker, has unveiled a new addition to its portfolio. Following the success of the 10 Year Old WhistlePig Small Batch Rye, the brand has turned its attention to bourbon, promising to go “the whole hog” with the launch of WhistlePig Snout-To-Tail Bourbon – Aged 10 Years.

The launch comes in advance of the opening of WhistlePig’s brand outpost. Due to open in 2025, The WhistlePig Piggybank will be located in Louisville, bringing “Big Pig Energy” to Kentucky.

WhistlePig Snout-To-Tail Bourbon – Aged 10 Years

WhistlePig produced its Snout-To-Tail Bourbon with a characteristically innovative method. The unique finishing process features barrels with two distinct toasted heads—Vermont oak with a medium toast at the “snout” and Vermont oak smoked maple wood at the “tail.” To fully capture the depth of both toasts, the barrels are flipped 180 degrees during aging, allowing each end to impart its own rich, layered flavors.

The bourbon is bottled at 88 proof as a nod to the 880 miles between the WhistlePig farm in Vermont and the brand outpost in Kentucky.

“After years pushing the boundaries of Rye whiskey, we have a point of view on age and experimental finishing that brings something new to Bourbon,” said Meghan Ireland, WhistlePig’s Head Blender. “The equal and opposite of our flagship 10 year Rye, Snout-to-Tail Bourbon takes toasted barrel aging to ten with bold flavors and new complexity earned before and after the barrel flip. With honey, brown sugar and toasted cashew on the ‘snout’, roasted almonds and baked cornbread on the sip, and a fresh crust and cedar ‘tail’, it’s a Straight Bourbon Whiskey born to crash the party in Kentucky.”

The WhistlePig PiggyBank Outpost

WhistlePig is entering Bourbon Country with the opening of a new brand outpost in Lousiville, KY. Taking the “Big Pig Energy” from Vermont to Kentucky, the brand outpost will offer unique and interactive experiences including exclusive tastings, retail opportunities, and a big pig bar. Additionally, the bank Vault has been reimagined as a space to hold WhistlePig’s rarest and most collectible whiskeys.

The WhisltePig PiggyBank outpost is located in historic Louisville bank buildings and the former Bank Shot Billiards space, just across the way from Angel’s Envy Distillery.

According to the brand, “This fearless foray onto Bourbon’s home turf is a testament to WhistlePig’s whole-hogged commitment to crafting whiskeys that are bigger, bolder and better than generations past.”
