Tasting Notes

About:

It’s always nice to see some other brands making it into the realm of ‘Tennessee Whiskey’. There are a lot of them but it’s obviously difficult to steal some of the shine from a brand like Jack Daniel’s and to a degree, even George Dickel. Containing the same mash bill as their bottled in bond bourbon, this is 70% corn, 15% wheat, and 15% malted barley.

Appearance:
Tawny Port
Nose:
Milk chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, toffee popcorn, melted butter, sea salt, freshly baked bread and cocoa powder.
Palate:
The flavor starts off with some heavier/charred notes that remind me of peanuts, charred oak, apple skins, cardamom, dark chocolate, Morello cherries and a touch of nutmeg. The flavor continues with this big, driven wood flavor that moves around your mouth with nice spice and notes that become earthy, whilst being sweet and savory. Things like liquorice, salt, vanilla pods, oak, mint, and burdock root.
Finish:
The finish is all about the warmth of that bottled in bond strength, more sweet and toasted oak notes, along with some classic sweetness from toffee popcorn, brown butter and mint.
Comments:
A well rounded and versatile Tennessee whiskey that isn’t reliant on being overly sweet. The variety of flavor and the depth of some of the savoury notes can really push your nose into diving deeper into this liquid.

A rather tasty and genuine small batch product that we should all try at some point.
