Last Chance to Come to Scotland

It’s almost here! Well, almost almost here.

Our trip to Scotland is in less than two months, and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ve been busy picking out hotels, planning distillery visits, and revisiting our informative article exactly how much whisky you can stash in your checked luggage.

It’s hard to pick out one thing I’m most excited about—Bowmore? Laphroaig?—but, if pressed, I might pick our visit to Kilchoman. It’s the newest distillery on Islay (by a margin of about 125 years), and it’s one of the only Scottish distilleries to continue practicing floor malting. I’ve only seen floor malting done on an extremely small scale (i.e. in my own basement), so I can’t wait to see the pros do it.

I’m also super excited to ogle the 3,384 collection of rare and vintage Scotch whisky at The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh. Originally assembled by Diageo Claive Vidiz, a Brazilian Scotch lover,  it’s now housed in a position of honor at the Scotch Whisky Experience. The collection took him 35 years to complete, and it’s like a snapshot of 20th century whisky history.

If all that sounds fun to you, you’re in luck: there are still a couple of spots available on the trip. If you’ve been on the fence, this is the time. If you’d like to come, get in touch with Customized Journeys as soon as possible (here’s the link). There’s still time to sign up, but the window is closing fast.

See you there!
