Online spirit auctioneer, Whisky Hammer, is commemorating its 100th auction in a grand style. The company has announced an exclusive giveaway, offering the chance to win a share of $12,700 in whisky vouchers redeemable at Still Spirit.
Those who successfully purchase a bottle in the March auction (Whisky Hammer’s 100th auction) will be entered into a prize draw. The 10 buyers selected from the draw will win a share of the vouchers, with the first-place recipient winning a $6,300 voucher. The vouchers will be redeemable at whisky retailer, Still Spirit.
In addition to the giveaway, Whisky Hammer is also bottling a limited edition 11 year old scotch whisky, a small number of which will be available in the March auction. Bidding will start at $38 per bottle.
To enter the giveaway, participants need to register on the auction website and place a bid during the 100th auction. Each bid corresponds to one entry, thus increasing the odds of winning with each bid.
The 100th auction serves as more than just a celebration of Whisky Hammer’s achievements. It also reflects the growing global interest in whiskey collecting and investing.
In recent years, billions of dollars worth of whiskey has been sold via online and bricks and mortar auctions, including the Macallan 1926 60 Year Old Valerio Adami, which sold for an astonishing £2.18 million (~$2.7 million) in November 2023.
Notable sales at Whisky Hammer include a cask of 1988 Macallan which sold for £915,500 in 2022 and a Yamazaki 55 Year Old that sold for £380,000 in November 2021.
