Woodford Reserve celebrated 15 years of an Emirates Airlines partnership by recently collaborating on a blend of unique bourbon to be served exclusively on select Emirates flights throughout the month of July.
Called Woodford Reserve Emirates Personal Selection, it will be available for first and business class passengers in the airline’s signature A380 Onboard Lounge, on selected routes across the U.S., the UK, Australasia and Southeast Asia.
A statement from Emirates and Woodford noted that this blended bourbon was selected by the airline, alongside Woodford’s master distiller, Chris Morris.
His tasting notes show that the blend features aromas of dried fruits, sweet honey, vanilla buttercream, and charred wood. The palate tastes of cherry, chocolate, toffee and caramel flavors, and it has a long, creamy finish.
Woodford Reserve Emirates Personal Selection comes from a small batch of just two barrels in total. They were batched together to create this one-off flavor profile.
Emirates’ first and business class passengers will also be able to sample Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select.
Every year, according to the press release, Emirates serves more than 90,000 miniature bottles of Woodford Reserve to passengers onboard, as well as 6,500 bottles of 75cl Woodford Reserve in the A380 Onboard Lounge.
