Heaven Hill recently introduced the Spring 2023 edition of their Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon.
A statement from the whiskey maker noted the 10-year-old release is made up of barrels produced during the spring season in the first half of 2013. It was bottled in the spring of 2023, making this the 11th national release in the decanter series.
It’s well known this edition is bottled in an ornate decanter, and for the spring edition, it’s denoted by a green label.
This edition’s tax strip, a signature of transparency on bottled-in-bond products, shows when the whiskey was produced and bottled.
The Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond spring edition is allocated, and the 750ml bottle clocks in at 100 proof and carries a suggested retail price of $139.99.
The distiller’s notes for the Spring 2023 edition of Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey show it has a burnished copper color, with a nose of brown sugar and molasses in addition to light baking spices with orange peel. The palate features tastes of butterscotch, subtle oak, and cloves.
The iconic Old Fitzgerald line was acquired by Heaven Hill in 1999, and its distilling lineage is known thanks to its namesake, John E. Fitzgerald, whose legacy also carries on in the Larceny Bourbon brand.
