Frey Ranch Introduces New ‘Farm Strength’ Uncut Bourbon

Nevada’s Frey Ranch Distillery has released a new permanent expression in its American whiskey portfolio, the Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon.

A statement from the whiskey maker noted that this uncut bourbon is bottled at cask strength, and made using 100% of their own grains that are grown, harvested, milled, and distilled on the Frey Ranch farm year-round.

Co-Founder and Whiskey Farmer Colby Frey said their corn, wheat, barley, and rye has become a hallmark of the brand, and it’s the driving force behind Frey Ranch’s growth in Nevada and California. Today, Frey Ranch is one of the largest whiskey producers on the West Coast.

This uncut bourbon clocks in at 124.3 proof, and matures for an average of five years. Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon uses the same mash bill as their flagship four grain bourbon.

That mash bill features 66.6% dent corn, 10% winter wheat, 11.4% winter rye, and 12% two-row barley.

The distiller notes that the cask strength bourbon features aromas of caramelized brulé and hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, the whiskey tastes of birthday cake frosting and glazed butter cake, with cloves, orange creamsicle and dried stone fruit. The finish has a subtle hint of smoke and black cherry.

“Every time we blend a batch of our flagship Frey Ranch Four Grain Straight Bourbon, we taste it at cask strength before we proof it down,” Frey said. “That uncut liquid is always a big hit with our distillery team.”

Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon is now available in California, Nevada, at the Frey Ranch Tasting Room, and online at www.freyranch.com. It has a suggested retail price of $79.99 for a 750 ml bottle. Later this year, Frey Ranch will boost its distribution to Arizona, Ohio, and Georgia.
