Nevada’s Frey Ranch Distillery recently launched a new Single Barrel Bourbon Program with a new Barrel Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
The distillery is one of a small number of whiskey producers across the world to grow 100% of its grains on site at the Frey Ranch in Fallon, Nevada. That includes the four-grain mash bill of non-GMO corn, winter cereal rye, winter wheat, and two-row barley that make up their new Barrel Strength Bourbon. The whiskey is aged for over five years, using American white oak barrels that Frey has sourced from cooperages in Missouri and Kentucky and is non-chill filtered. Alcohol by volume ranges from 120 to 133 proof, depending up the particular single barrel offering.

“Frey Ranch Single Barrel Bourbon is the product of many years of hard work and dedication from our team, starting in the grain fields and culminating in a bourbon we’re very proud of,” said Colby Frey, Frey Ranch founder co-founder and CEO, in a prepared statement. “When we tasted the whiskey at barrel strength, I knew I wanted consumers to experience the whiskey just as I did when I fell in love with it.”
Frey Ranch has been slowly releasing whiskey and spirits since their founding in 2006, including their flagship 45% ABV Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which earned 92 points from The Tasting Panel, and their 50% ABV Straight Rye Whiskey, which netted 93 points from Whisky Advocate.
Their Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is available at the Frey Ranch tasting room or through select retailers in Nevada (a list is below) with an SRP of $84.99.
