Beam Debuts Hardin’s Creek, A New Limited ‘Kentucky Series’ Of Whiskeys

Hardin’s Creek, a new “ultra-rare” brand from James B. Beam Distilling Co., was recently announced as a three-part release of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskeys that make up the next installment in the distillery’s portfolio.

A statement from Beam explained that the new Kentucky Series is made up of Hardin’s Creek Clermont, Hardin’s Creek Frankfort and Hardin’s Creek Boston. It’s designed to take whiskey fans on a journey of Kentucky terroir, meant to showcase the influence of diverse landscapes on the flavor profile of each whiskey.

The whiskey within The Kentucky Series is a 17-year-old bourbon, aged at one of three James B. Beam Distilling Company campuses in Kentucky … Clermont, Frankfort, or Boston.

All three of the whiskeys come from the same mash bill, distilled at the same time 17 years ago. The only difference? The location of the campus where they aged.

Hardin’s Creek, established in 2022, is a series of ongoing releases that features some of Beam’s most rare whiskeys.

The three editions of the limited Kentucky Series will be released throughout the year, starting with Clermont (launched June 1st), Frankfort on Aug. 1st and Boston on Sept. 1st.

The distiller’s notes on the Clermont edition show that the dark amber colored whiskey clocks in at 55% ABV, and on the nose has aromas of burnt sugar with toasted oak and sweet vanilla. The palate features flavors of caramelized oak, followed by brown spices and hints of seasoned leather. It has a suggested retail price of $169.99.
