Bardstown Bourbon Company Unveils New Distillery Collection, Mobile Tasting Bar

Bardstown Bourbon Company has two new projects on its hands - the Distillery Collection, a series of rare single-barrel bourbon distillery only releases, and a mobile bar tour across the US.

Bardstown Bourbon Company is getting ambitious at the start of the new year. In addition to the announcement of the Distillery Collection, a series of rare single-barrel bourbon releases that will be available only at their Bardstown, Kentucky headquarters, the distillery is introducing a “fill-your-own bottle tour experience” and launching a mobile bar that will be touring the U.S. this year.

The inaugural release in their Distillery Collection is their Phifer Pavitt XO 44-month Cabernet finish. This new bottle is the next evolutionary step for their Phifer Pavitt Collaboration, released in 2019, that featured 10-year-old Tennessee straight bourbon whiskey that was finished for 18 months in Phifer Pavitt Reserve cabernet barrels. The XO edition lets the bourbon rest in those same barrels for the better part of four years.

“Innovation, collaboration and exclusivity come together in our Distillery Collection,” Dan Callaway, Bardstown’s vice president of hospitality and product development said, in a prepared statement. “From experimental finishes to unique single-barrels, these releases encapsulate our modern approach to whiskey-making and showcase that every time you visit, there’s something new to discover and take home after your Bardstown experience.”

Bardstown will only offer these exclusive releases for sale at their distillery (with an SRP starting at $199.99 US), and will soon follow their Phifer Pavitt XO expression with re-barreled bourbon as a completed blend and aged on site for 20 months.

Whiskey lovers will also get a chance to fill their own bottle of this Distillery Collection release as Bardstown is now offering a tour experience that will allow guests to fill a bottle straight from the barrel as well as personalize the label. This new system was put together by Vendome Copper & Brass Works and is the first of its kind in a whiskey rickhouse.

“The blend of art and science in this Vendome creation is a perfect match for our brand,” Justin Willett, executive director of manufacturing operations at Bardstown said. “To come out to our rickhouse and fill your own bottle is a special opportunity to connect with our bourbon through a one-of-a-kind experience.”

That’s not the only one-of-a-kind experience Bardstown is offering up this year. The distillery recently unveiled a custom-built 27-foot mobile tasting bar, created with Aero Build Customs, that has already hit the road for sampling opportunities, bottle signings with master distiller Steve Nally, custom bottle engravings, and merch giveaways.

“We wanted to create a lasting impression with consumers,” said Bardstown Bourbon Company CEO Mark Erwin. “Everyone who visits the distillery falls in love with the brand, so replicating that experience for our fans out-of-state was a logical step for us.”

The mobile bar already has a full schedule for this spring and summer (dates are below), but Bardstown encourages folks to keep an eye on their website for updates and additions to their itinerary.
