Cut Above Launching New, Non-Alcoholic Whiskey

Cut Above Zero-Proof Spirits recently launched a non-alcoholic whiskey to its portfolio, joining zero-proof gin, agave blanco, and mezcal.

A statement from the Cut Above brand notes that this new “whiskey” was crafted in partnership with mixologists, flavor specialists and whiskey experts in order to deliver an authentic product blend that pays homage to brown spirit, seeking the balance of fruit sweetness, bite and the effects of wood and aging.

It took Cut Above three years to tackle that task.

“Whiskey is a complex and beautiful spirit and we wanted to be as true to its heritage and taste as possible,” said Andrew Solis, Cut Above’s founder. “Although it was admittedly harder than we anticipated to replicate the spirit’s complexity, I’m thrilled to deliver a truly non-alcoholic product that will please the most ardent whiskey enthusiasts.”

He said that Cut Above Zero Proof Whiskey is a Kentucky style expression with aromas of cherry on the nose, followed by a balance of barreled age heartiness, hints of roasted coffee and subtle citrus that carries through a malted grain background.

Their zero proof whiskey production process starts with neutral pH water, combined with flavors derived from flowers, herbs, plants, fruits, roots, barks, leaves and vegetables to create the all-natural, low calorie, no carb zero-proof spirit. In all, it has less than a gram of sugar.

“Going right to the source, we enlisted expert distillers from Louisville, Kentucky, to help craft Cut Above Zero Proof Whiskey,” Solis said. “Made with natural ingredients, you get a full-on whiskey experience from the first notes of cherry, essence of oak and toasted oats to the slightly spicy finish. Makes a fantastic Old Fashioned.”

Cut Above Whiskey has a suggested retail price of $34.99 for a 750ml bottle, and is available at www.DrinkCutAbove.com.
