Tasting Notes

About:

The distillery is owned by The Glenmorangie Company Ltd (a subsidiary of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), whose main product is the range of Glenmorangie single malt whisky. Glenmorangie is categorised as a Highland distillery and boasts the tallest stills in Scotland. It is available in Original (12-year old), 18, and 25-year-old bottlings, special cask bottlings, cask finishes, extra matured bottlings, and a range of special edition bottlings. Glenmorangie distillery is a distillery in Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland.

One of the more popular Scotch distilleries worldwide, Glenmorangie is often known by their bright orange colorings and iconic hourglass bottles.
Appearance:
Clear copper color with semi-slow legs which cling to the glass. Tasted neat in a Glencairn after resting.
Nose:
We open with an inviting nose of orchard fruit, honey, dried figs and dates, before warming apples and soft-old wood. Overall it is bright and airy.
Palate:
The palate accompanies the nose well. Continuing with warm fruits of orange and citrus before moving into darker red fruits and earthy sugars with spice. Matures across the tongue with toasted oak and sherry wine to compliment the sweet body of the dram.
Finish:
The finish is a great compliment. Nice subtle warming flavors with a clean spice of white pepper and clove. Moments of ripe fruits and mild sugars appear before fading over a medium hold.
Comments:
This is quite nice and truly a great bottle. This is a drinkers Scotch and is meant to be enjoyed and celebrated with. If you have a nice light or heavy cigar this will really compliment the moment, but also this and a couple of buddies will turn even the mundane into a celebrated evening. Personally pull this out when you’re ready to make an evening something special. Absolutely worth having on the shelf and enjoying.
