The Whisky Exchange has released four new single cask whiskies as part of the second installment of its Zodiac Series, matching star sign personality traits to specific Scotch whisky distilleries. The Summer Solstice Collection launched in-store and online on May 1, 2026, featuring expressions from Laphroaig, Loch Lomond’s Croftengea, Clynelish, and Glenlossie.

The four bottlings represent the zodiac signs Cancer, Leo, Virgo, and Libra. Prices range from £84.95 to £105.

Chris Bolton, own-label product manager at The Whisky Exchange, worked with buying director Dawn Davies to select the casks. Bolton described the selection methodology in detail.

“It was a meticulous and complex process to choose these whiskies,” he said. “Just like star signs, every whisky distillery has its own personality which fans learn to trust as an old friend.”

“We started by converting the traits of each Zodiac sign into idiosyncratic flavour characteristics, then set about hunting down casks of whisky that most accurately reflected these profiles,” Bolton added.

He explained each pairing individually. “For the Summer Solstice Collection we matched persuasive and loyal Cancer with faithful Laphroaig for its patient ability to convert even sceptical Islay whisky drinkers, while charismatic and confident Leo is translated into whisky form by a bold and assertive Croftengea from Loch Lomond.”

“Virgo’s practical and perfectionist traits could only be Clynelish for those enamoured by the technical side of whisky-making, while charming and gracious Libra needed a graceful and understated distillery like Glenlossie to truly bring the concept to life,” Bolton said.

The Cancer expression is a Laphroaig 2015 10-year-old bottled at 62.3% ABV for £94.95. Leo is represented by a Loch Lomond Croftengea 2009 16-year-old at 51.7% ABV for £99.95. The Virgo bottling is a Clynelish 2015 10-year-old at 52.8% ABV priced at £105. Libra is a Glenlossie 2009 16-year-old at 54% ABV for £84.95.

Each bottle features artwork created by Jenna Morse of The Whisky Exchange design team. The full Zodiac Series is structured as three collectible sets, each containing an air, water, earth, and fire sign.

The first collection in the series, covering Pisces, Aries, Taurus, and Gemini, is also currently available. A final autumn release will complete the 12-sign collection, covering the remaining four zodiac signs.
