The Glenlivet has announced the launch of its 12 Year Old Jamaica Edition, Treasure Beach, a single malt scotch selectively finished in Jamaican rum casks. This release marks the first expression in the brand’s new ‘Beyond Speyside’ series and will be available exclusively in the U.S.
The new expression is a 12-year-old Speyside single malt.
It has been finished in casks that previously held rum from Jamaica, a process intended to impart tropical flavor notes.

The product is named Treasure Beach, after a location on the south coast of Jamaica.
This launch is the first in what the company is calling the ‘Beyond Speyside’ series, which aims to capture the essence of different global destinations.

Balmforth added, “By embracing distinctive cask finishes, we’re offering whisky lovers a truly unique and memorable experience, taking The Glenlivet from Speyside to the shores of Jamaica.”
According to the brand’s official tasting notes, the whisky has a nose of fresh mango, pineapple, coconut, and green apple.
The palate is described as having notes of juicy pineapple, vanilla, and toffee.
Its finish is stated to be velvety caramel with a smooth finish.
The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Jamaica Edition, Treasure Beach, will be sold at a suggested retail price of $54.99 in the U.S. market.
The use of rum casks for finishing scotch whisky is an established practice within the industry, with numerous distilleries offering similar expressions.
Several brands utilize this finishing method to add layers of tropical fruit and brown sugar notes to their whiskies.
Notable ongoing releases include The Balvenie’s Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old, which is finished in a blend of West Indian rum casks.
Glenfiddich also has its 21 Year Old Gran Reserva, which undergoes a final maturation in Caribbean rum casks.
Other distilleries, including Arran and Tullibardine, have also periodically released rum cask-finished whiskies as part of their core or limited-edition portfolios.
